I think me and regular radio just broke up
When I bought my new car late last year, it came with 3 free months of satellite radio. We went ahead and continued with the subscription after this ran out and I have enjoyed it. Chadd really likes the comedy channels and they have a decent selection of rock channels or music for whatever mood you are in.
I used to have to commute over an hour to work, and so I would listen to real radio going to work, because I liked the morning show they have on the alternative rock station here in Dallas. On the way home I always listen to XM.
The original morning show on the real radio, or at least when I started listening to it, was Jagger and Julie as well as Dean Lewis and Slim Jim. After about a year or so they canned Slim Jim, which was sad, because he added a great element to the show. After that that dropped Julie and shipped her over to another station and brought in this guy Mondo Mike. I still listened because ultimately my favorites were Dean and Jagger, so his complete stupidity was tolerated.
It seems they wanted a more male audience, hence why they brought in Mondo Mike, but he is/was a complete tool that only talks bout sex and women's "hammers". I know other girls listen to rock music, so what is up with this? It was very annoying, but I guess off the point. I still enjoyed Dean's humor and Jagger, so I listened fathfully every morning.
Well now, the whole show is gone. The whole reason I ever listened to real radio in the first place and they cancelled it, only to be replaced with a nationally syndicated show that its target audience is males aged 18-25. Why would I want to listen to that when I have all the radio I want on XM, without all the crap?
It was a brutal breakup, but at least I have a good backup.
