Saucy Cell Phone

So...over the weekend my cell phone accidently slipped into some hot sauce at a Mexican food restaurant. Really screwed it up...Now when you try to turn it on the camera flash goes off and the blue lights on the side blink. If you try to turn it on enough times in the dark, it could be mistaken for a strobe light. There is also this wonderful static noise that definitely isn't polyphonic.

So I took the phone to the sprint store, so the fixit guy could hopefully fix it. The lady at the counter said she showed it to him and all he said was "Oh my god." And then told the counter lady to repeat what he had said back to me. So I had to buy a new phone. I didn't have insurance so it cost 300 dollars.

Lessons to be learned from this...have cell phone insurance and don't drop your cell phones in salsa.

Adaptation

So I watched the movie Adaptation last night. I actually ended up liking it. It was one of those where I wanted to see it because it looked interesting when I saw the previews, but then didn't want to see it because it had Nicholas Cage and Meryl Streep in it.

I think I liked the job Nicholas Cage did in this movie better than any I have seen him in. The character was pitiful, but it was very believable and not at all annoying. This movie definitely won't be for everyone, but if you kinda like the offbeat kind of movies, then this might be worth checking out.

A quote that comes up in the movie that I thought was intriguing... "You are what you love, not what loves you. That's what I decided a long time ago." ~Donald Kaufman

Another good quote that I stumbled upon the other day that is equally as true... "worrying is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it doesn't get you anywhere."- Van Wilder

Overview

For anyone who doesn't know anything about me...my name is Amanda and I am a 25 year old and lives in the DFW metroplex. I am happily married to my high school boyfriend and we just bought our first house about a month ago. I work for a non profit company in Dallas as a quality assurance coordinator - I am sure some of that will come out later... I am originally from the Houston area (go Rockets!) and received my bachelors degree from Texas A&M University in 2002.

I love doing things with my family, and I am truly blessed with a good one, or at least I like to think so. I enjoy surfing the web, reading, sleeping, and watching movies. I love good food and usually bad for you food - they seem to go hand in hand with me.

That is pretty much me in a little over 2 paragraphs - not overly interesting, but hopefully some things I come up with will amuse you unexpectedly.

That is the hope anyway.
